Relaunch Success Stories
After a 15 year break from working full-time, I recently took a job as Vice President with Globe Wealth Advisors, a private investment company. It took a lot of work - two years of study for the Certified Financial Planners exam (which I passed on the first try), relevant pro bono work throughout my time at home, and endless and persistent networking. All of this occurred as I watched the economy tank and significant financial uncertainty set in. I turned down a job offer last September that didn't feel like the right match and second-guessed my decision for the next six months. I am thrilled that I persisted with my search and found this position, which is a great fit with my skills and interests. I have an open-minded boss (the head of our company) who considered my career break an asset because it meant I had a fresh perspective.
