After 18 years with Accenture, I decided it was time to do something different. I thought the skillset I developed at Accenture would be perfect for a university administrative position, a long term career goal of mine. As an MIT alumna, the idea of working there felt like coming home. After a five year career break, I found my dream job as the Associate Director of Academic Programs within MIT Professional Education. My eventual success was the result of networking, focus, networking, passion, networking, volunteering, networking, and good timing! One of my programs is a collaboration with Accenture, and a second is the new Career Reengineering Program, targeted at individuals looking to retool or reenter the workforce after an extended leave.
